Valerian Root: Valerian is commonly used to treat sleep disorders, especially insomnia. It is often combined with blue vervain, chamomile, or other herbs that assist with sleep disorders. Valerian also relaxes and strengthens the uterus.
Valerian is a sedative effective for conditions associated with anxiety and psychological stress, such as anxious asthma, hysteric states, excitability, fear of illness (hypochondria), headaches, migraines, and upset stomach. There are numerous uses for Valerian, including the treatment of depression, mild tremors, epilepsy, ADHD, Autism, and chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). Valerian is often used to relieve muscle and joint pain, as well as menstrual cramps and menopause symptoms like hot flashes and anxiety.
Based on the analysis of 60 studies published over the past 40 years, researchers concluded that valerian root can likely improve sleep and reduce anxiety among many people.
SUGGESTED USE: Use 2 teaspoons per 8 oz cup of spring water.
